Why do you want to dress the way you do was asked and the responses went like this:
There are many reasons we want to dress the way we do, one of them being the way we were raised. The things we were exposed to as a child because they're etched in your mind. You won't know why, but you'll be driven towards buying "that piece" as opposed to something of exactly same color and fabric, just a different shape. Our taste for certain clothing come from a subconscious place, so our parents or the people we grew up with, affect our choices. We also gravitate towards the clothing that originally made us feel great, safe and secure.
Do you know why we wear clothing?
At creation man was clothed with the righteousness and glory of God. Through disobedience, Adam stripped himself, and his descendants, of the righteousness and glory he possessed. Their physical nakedness is a symbol of their spiritual nakedness. They (Adam and Eve) perceived they were naked and sought to cover themselves with fig leaves; they hid from God. They no longer felt great, safe, and secure because of their sin.
By nature, Man now seeks to self righteously cover themselves in futile attempts to bring oneself into a right standing before God. Man can never "be" good enough. Through grace, God comes - in the work of redemption - to clothe Man with the righteousness of Christ. Our only sufficient grounds of covering. On the day of judgement God is not only committed to removing our guilt, He is also committed to cleansing our corrupt nature.
“Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them.[a] 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” 5 And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” Rev. 21:3 - 5a, NLT
